Burkina Faso Diplomatic Entities support AFRICALLIA 2020
After the official launch of AFRICALLIA 2020 which took place on February 18th, the Steering Committee in charge of the forum met with Chiefs of Diplomatic and Consular Missions residing in Burkina Faso.
On Tuesday March 3rd, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso, initiator of the forum, hosted a cocktail where authorities of the Chamber exchanged with members of the Diplomatic community in a convivial atmosphere.
In his welcome speech, Mr. Oumar YUGO, Vice-President in charge of Industry and Chairman of the Steering Committee of AFRICALLIA, thanked the members of the Diplomatic Institutions for their interest in the forum and their effective presence at the introductory meeting. “Our ambition for this edition is to mobilize at least 500 business leaders from about twenty African countries and the rest of the world,” he said.
He requested the support of Ambassadors and honorary consuls in the international promotion of the forum; for now, an informational meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 12th at the Embassy of Burkina Faso in France (Paris). Teams from the Chamber will travel to several countries in Africa, Europe, America and Asia to meet with businessmen and incite their participation to the forum.

After this official introduction by Mr. YUGO, Mr. Félix SANON Permanent Secretary of AFRICALLIA introduced the forum and the expectations for this year’s edition. He reminded his guests of the importance of this 7th edition which marks the 10th anniversary of the forum. Some major innovations are expected on this occasion. Though AFRICALLIA is open to all countries, a special focus will be on the People’s Republic of China, Russia, Turkey and the African Diasporas.
Thematic outreaches will focus on the construction of the African common market through the African Continental Free Trade Area, funding of private projects by international investors, and the major structuring projects of WAEMU. On the sidelines of the event will be held a mini forum dedicated to the member Chambers of the WAEMU Regional Consular Chamber. “This will be an opportunity for the West African business community to forge closer ties and lay the foundations for the emergence of regional joint ventures,” Mr. Félix SANON said.
Companies seeking technological, commercial or financial alliances can take part in AFRICALLIA. Participation fees are 260 000 CFA francs for African companies (except those from the Maghreb region) and 800 Euros for other countries. These fees entitle to:
– A schedule of at least 15 personalized business meetings,
– Translation services available during meetings if your partner does not speak the same language as you,
